Programme Description:

This is a one year, full-time programme that introduces students to the world of Animation.  Based on a solid foundation of Fine Art, students experience character development and storyboarding with an emphasis on traditional drawn animation as well as digital animation.

Minimum Entry Requirements:

  • Successful completion of an interview.
  • Applicants will be asked to present a portfolio of work samples at interview.
  • Mature applicants are welcome.


  • A range of programmes at further and higher level institutions.
  • Various progression prospects in the fields of animation, game design, design, illustration, fine art, creative multimedia, visual communication, photography, visual arts teaching and art therapy.
  • Progression to the Fine Art Level 6 programme at Ormonde College of Further Education.


Approximately €250 to cover the costs of equipment, materials and examination fees.


Successful applicants will be required to have access to an SLR camera in order to participate in the Digital Photography module.
