Programme Description:

This course offers learners the opportunity to develop knowledge and essential skills in the various fields of Media Production.  Focusing on a practical, activity based approach, learners will utilise professional equipment and software and avail of the opportunity to engage in educational trips, specialist workshops and presentations by professionals within the media industry.

Minimum Entry Requirements:

  • Leaving Certificate/Leaving Certificate Applied or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of an interview.
  • Mature applicants are welcome.

Progression:

  • Learners have opportunities to progress to a range of programmes at higher level in the fields of Media Production, Multi-media, Visual Communications, Film and TV Production, PR, Advertising and Event Production.
  • Opportunities to work in a broad range of positions in print and broadcast media, radio presenting and production, photography and in the film industry.
  • Past students have progressed on to many colleges and universities in Ireland and abroad, such as NUI Maynooth, DCU, University of Limerick, IT Carlow and Waterford IT.

Costs:

Approximately €250 to cover the costs of materials and examination fees.

Additional Training and Opportunities:

Students will have the opportunity to avail of various field-trips and visits to commercial radio stations and film festivals.
