Programme Description:

This is a one-year, full-time course with hands on tuition from craft practitioners, where learners will develop and explore their creative and technical skills and gain confidence to progress further in the field of contemporary craft, art and design.

Special Entry Requirements:

  • Applicants will be asked to present a portfolio of work samples at interview.

Progression:

  • Learners may progress to Level 6 programmes in Advanced Crafts Studies (Level 6) at Grennan Mill Craft Campus or the Level 6 in Art at OCFE, to further develop their technical abilities and portfolios
  • Based on the quality of their portfolio, learners may gain advanced entry to a range of third level courses
  • Opportunities to specialise in one craft by progressing to courses such as DCCOI Pottery Skills course and DCCOI Jewellery Skills course
