Programme Description:
The BSc. (Hons) in Public Health and Health Promotion is a full-time four-year honours degree course. With a focus on community health, disease prevention, and health education, you’ll learn practical skills and knowledge to help promote healthy behaviours and positive change in individuals, groups, and populations. By learning how to influence the factors that impact health, you can improve the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of those most in need.
This programme will give you the opportunity to access a third-level degree without any requirement for a CAO application.

On completion of Year 1 at CFETK, you will transfer to SETU’s Waterford campus to complete Years 2, 3 & to achieve the BSc. In Public Health and Health Promotion
Eligibility:
Those wishing to apply to the programme should meet the following minimum entry criteria:
- Leaving Certificate: 2H5 & 4O6/H7; English or Irish: O6/H7; Mathematics O6/H7, or…
- Level 5 major award or equivalent, or…
- If you are aged 23 or over and do not meet the minimum entry requirement, your application will be assessed based on merit. We will take into account your life experience, work or community experience.
Fees:
There are no registration fees for the first year of the programme. Students may be eligible to apply to SUSI for a grant from Year 1 that will cover fees for Years 2, 3 and 4.
